Parents & Players, What a great week we have just wrapped! All teams were in action and the growth of these players and teams is now visible in our performances. We are also at the point in the season when playing 2-3 games/week and training can put a load on players. Please make sure to communicate injuries or issues with one of the coaches, as well as Peter and the training staff. A big thank you to everyone who helped out with Senior Night this past Thursday night. Your flexibility and care helped it to come off without a hitch. The seniors got to play a lot of minutes together, and it turned out to be a great night with the boys and their families. One last reminder to follow up with anyone that you texted for fundraising who you never spoke with. This has been a hugely successful fundraiser, and will allow us to purchase new uniform kits for next season, as well as continue to do a JV overnight trip. A few announcements and then the schedule for the busy week ahead. Food Fundraising We are trying to set up a food-related fundraiser each month. These are designed to be a convenience to us as customers as well as a benefit to soccer. Most will be restaurant fundraisers where you eat, we get a portion of proceeds. August and September have landed on top of each other. See information below. Moe's Fundraiser The first Moe's Fundraiser is this week. (See attachment) It is easy. Order a Taco Kit for dinner (plenty to feed 4-6 people). Moe's delivers to Henry Clay at 5:30 on 9/1. Feed the family. Henry Clay Boys Soccer receives a portion of the proceeds. Link to order: https://rebrand.ly/sep1_hchs Please get orders in as soon as possible. Crank & Boom Pints for a Purpose During the first two weeks of September, proceeds from Crank & Boom pint sales directed through our fundraising link will benefit boys soccer. Customers can pick up their orders at the end of the month at Crank & Boom on Clay's Mill Rd. Keep an eye out for more information later this week. As always please reach out to me with any questions or concerns. Thanks, Coach Behler Parents & Players,
Great second week of the season! All teams played this week and had great showings. The amount of growth and development already has astounded the coaching staff. The Varsity and JV Gold teams had a successful overnight trip to West Virginia: great bonding, excellent competition, and rowdy crowds to play in front of...even had A-lister Jennifer Garner attend our Saturday game. I would be remiss and derelict in my duties if I did not give a huge thank you to all of our volunteers, all of our drivers (of your kids and of others), and our logistics, finance and nutrition team of Betty & Stan Harvey, Brett Tinch, and Melinda & Luke Blanche. You all ensured a positive experience for these boys. We have another busy week ahead of us with District games, Senior Night, and all teams in action. Added Game on Senior Night... Need Volunteers Parents of underclassmen, with the addition of the JV Blue game this Thursday 8/25, we need additional volunteers. It's an all-hands-on-deck kind of night, as it is also Senior Night. Of our families, 8 are Senior parents & 22 are already helping with the Varsity game & Senior Night preparations. In short, we have a much smaller pool of folks to pull help from than you'd think for the JV-B game. Please volunteer! What a great first week with all three teams picking up wins against city teams and representing our program well. The marathon has begun, and the first two miles have been steady. LOL! This week brings more chaos and obstacles with fundraising campaigns and our West Virginia overnight for JV Gold and Varsity. Please read through Fundraiser We are beginning our fundraiser this week. All players should have gotten a sheet to write down names and numbers of possible sales. 35 names/numbers per player is what we are going for. Those sheets are DUE on Monday. The plan is to do our one-hour call session on Thursday, after practice (7-8pm) in the cafeteria. We have no school the next day. That is it for this fundraiser. We send a text then follow up with a phone call to the numbers on the list in that one-hour window. The donations link will stay open for 2 weeks if people are busy to do follow ups with them, but it is that easy. No door to door, no refrigeration, no delivery. Please help your boys get those sheets filled out. JV-A & Varsity Google Form for WV trip (Food & Rides) JV-A & Varsity players, please complete this Google Form to place your food orders for the trip and let us know if you will need a ride for the West Virginia trip. Responses are due on Tuesday so that we can place the food orders. Team & Individual Photos Available to Purchase Team & individual photos taken by TriplePlay last week are available to view & order. Coach Behler HC Family, as we look to rebuild our squad for the upcoming season, there are people who are looking to rebuild their lives in EKY. We want to help. Lafayette will be waiving admissions fees for Tuesday night’s matches vs HC, and they are asking for donations in lieu of fees. You can bring items from the list of needed items or donate via Venmo or gift card at the gate. We want students, families, and faculty to consider spending your last night of summer break coming out and showing support for our program and our fellow Commonwealthers in need. |
