Feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] if you have questions. Betty Harvey, 2022 President Henry Clay Boys Soccer Boosters Parents & Players,
Whew! I meant to send this email yesterday, but I was ...tired! Another year and another Young Devils Soccer Camp come and gone. This year was an enormous success, due to the amazing staff that we had comprised of players from the boys and girls teams. Our counselors went above and beyond, learning all campers names on the first day, interacting with them in a positive and encouraging manner throughout the week, and making sure the campers always left with a smile on their faces. Special shoutouts to Elizabeth Hightower, Eva Grace Melloan, Elliott Blanche and Curtis Blanche who worked with our Kindergarten group (very challenging) and were amazing!!!!! That is not to belittle how awesome everyone else was, but that group in particular is tough. Also, Betty Harvey did all of the little things, which all turn out to be big things, allowing Coach Chad and myself to oversee the groups and work with the players and campers. We had a blast, but we are spent. Kickarounds continue this week and next on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:30am-8am. We hope to see anyone who is in town and not working out there. Finally, I have the bittersweet news that Varsity Assistant Coach David Ritchie will be departing Henry Clay after 4 seasons to take the head coaching job at Boyle County High School. Coach David has been an integral part of our deep tournament runs in his first few years, as well as helming our JV program. He has always wanted to be head of a program, and I couldn't be more excited for him to get this opportunity, where I know he will do amazing job. Taking his place as the Varsity Assistant will be Coach Chad Calderone. Coach Xavian and Coach Richard will be returning, and we are trying to pick up one more new coach to help share the load of training, coaching, and managing the 70+ players in our program. Have a great weekend! If you are playing in State Cup, best of luck! And if you worked the camp, get some rest...you earned it. Go Devils!!! Coach Behler |
