Parents & Players,
This is the final week of optional kickarounds at Henry Clay. We will try to go 6:30am-8:00am on Tuesday (6/20), Wednesday (6/21), and Thursday (6/22). I will cancel by 5:30am if it looks like the weather will prevent us from doing them. Please check your email and Team Snap. From June 25 - July 9 the Henry Clay facilities will be closed to players, coaches, and basically anyone that is not in summer PE. This is when they will be doing field maintenance and other necessary upkeep. I am not to correspond with you all during this period via email, phone, or text. It is meant to be a break from high school sports. Everything we have done and are doing in the kickarounds is intended to be able to be replicated at home on your own. If you have questions during that time period please consult out website at http://henryclaysoccer.weebly.com . Finally, I want to wish the best of luck to all of our HC boys that are heading to St. Louis to compete with their club teams in USYSA Regionals! Great opportunity and experience. I know I speak for the entire coaching staff when I say that we are all looking forward to what the upcoming season holds for these boys and our program. Jason Behler Parents & Players,
We had a great first full week of kickarounds - large numbers of new and returning players - and the coaching staff is getting excited for the upcoming season. One change in this week's schedule is that we will NOT go this Tuesday (6/13) morning 6:30am-8am, as I will be out of town until Tuesday night. We will still go on Wednesday (6/14) and Thursday (6/15) mornings 6:30am-8:00am. If you are in town please make plans to attend. The plan for following week is to go all three days - Tuesday (6/20), Wednesday (6/21), and Thursday (6/22) 6:30am-8:00am before breaking for the KHSAA mandated Dead Period, during which time the coaching staff and I will not be in contact with players and FCPS facilities will be closed for maintenance. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and I will see many of you on Wednesday morning. Thanks, Coach Behler Summer is here! Last week we welcomed over 175 campers to our Young Devils Camp, staffed by me, Betty, Wendy, and over 40 players from the boys and girls teams. It was a tremendous success, and I thank everyone involved for helping it to come off without any major issues. This is a great fundraiser for our program, and it makes the equivalent of about 25 meal nights at a restaurant.
Kickarounds will start in earnest this week, running Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 6:30am-8:00am. Remember that you need an updated physical to participate. Finally, congratulations to all of our HC boys that won State Cup this past weekend. A great accomplishment!! Hope to see lots of happy faces, ready to train tomorrow at 6:30am. Coach Behler |
